Central Michigan Seed Swap

  • Chippewa Nature Center 400 South Badour Road Midland, MI, 48640 (map)

Slow Food Huron Valley is a proud sponsor of the Central Michigan Seed Swap. Central Michigan's Annual Seed Swap is focused on building a sustainable seed community, offering workshops, informative speakers and seeds for everyone!

The keynote speaker at the 5th annual Central Michigan Seed Swap will be legendary seedsman John Coykendall! John is the resident Master Gardener at the world famous Blackberry Farms in Walland, Tennessee. Traveling through Europe and across the United States, Coykendall has collected not only great stories but also seeds from the most successful gardens in the world. He brings the knowledge of decades to the garden, along with centuries old heirloom seeds that he has collected from all over the world. John will be sharing many of these exciting stories during his talk, helping us to understand the importance of saving the living history of our heirloom seeds.

The day will also include educational workshops, kids’ activities, and seed vendors. Please see the website for more details! www.smallhousefarm.com/seedswap/
